Everyone needs a “grandma Lois.” She was Timothy’s grandmother. The book of 2 Timothy tells us that Timothy was instructed in Biblical teaching from the time he was a child and the faith he received continues as an adult. I’m reading the book entitled “Biblical Grand Parenting” by Josh Mulvihill and he reminds us how important grandparents are in the life of their grandchildren.
The sooner we teach them about Jesus and how he has worked in our life the more sound will be their foundation. We need to teach them at an early age, remind them often how God works in their life, and ensure our teaching is Biblical and centered on Jesus. I had a Grandma Irene. She was the prayer warrior in our family.
“…You must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Jesus Christ.” 2 Timothy 3:14-15
