Give Me A Minute – What is Salvation?

Salvation…It’s a word that doesn’t get a lot of use outside Christian circles but it’s critical we each understand it. Google it. Most of the references refer to the “Salvation Army” or “Christian doctrine.”

What is salvation? It’s being saved from eternal condemnation and the wrath of a holy God who judges sin. We all sin. It’s universal. The consequence of sin is eternal separation from God. But if we confess that we are sinners, repent of our sin and ask God, through His son Jesus to remove our sin, we will be “saved.” We are born again, redeemed, …we have salvation.

God sent his son, Jesus, to die on a cross for each of us. He was buried and on the third day, God raised him from the dead. An empty tomb. A living, risen savior…the key to salvation. It’s God’s free gift of love to everyone. Accept it by faith and it’s yours.

You choose. Salvation or eternal condemnation.
