Give Me A Minute – A Few Current Headlines

So much going on around here. Thought you might want a quick update.

• The mother of a 2-year-old Texas girl who authorities say was killed by her father said the suspect Face-timed her while he was choking the child. 

• President Joe Biden signed an order requiring schools to ignore the biological differences between male and female students from the athletic field to the bathroom if they wish to continue receiving federal funding. 

• Less than two weeks before Silicon Valley Bank became the largest bank failure since the 2008 financial crisis, top executives at the company sold stock totaling several million dollars, according to federal disclosures obtained by ABC News.

• The National School Boards Association (NSBA) admitted to colluding with senior White House officials to develop a letter asking the federal government to investigate concerned parents speaking at school board meetings as “domestic terrorists.” The admission comes after an internal review, which was prompted by significant backlash to the letter that led Attorney General Merrick Garland to sic the FBI on parents and use “counterterrorism tools” to investigate them.
  
• More than 1,000 people may face new charges relating to the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, the Justice Department warned Washington, D.C. courts late last year.

• Biden’s HHS Secretary has now confirmed that the Biden Administration is using taxpayer dollars to push young children to have sex change operations and take dangerous chemicals that do permanent damage to their bodies. The Administration supports allowing these procedures to occur without parental consent.

• When Chloe was 12 years old, she decided she was transgender. At 13, she came out to her parents. That same year, she was put on puberty blockers and prescribed testosterone. At 15, she underwent a double mastectomy. Less than a year later, she realized she’d made a mistake — all by the time she was 16 years old.
  
• Biden is well on his way to becoming the greatest jobs-producing president in US history.

• The Republican Parents Bill of Rights, which U.S. House Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., alleged is fascist, has 5 pillars to ensure parents have the right to have a voice in their kids’ education:
  • Right to know what’s being taught in schools and to see reading material; 
  • Right to be heard; 
  • Right to see school budget and spending; 
  • Right to protect their child’s privacy; [and] 
  • Right to be updated on any violent activity at school.”
