It’s gorgeous outside today. I cleaned the pool in anticipation of grandkids swimming. When I finished I decided to look at some headlines on CNN, ABC and FOX news. You have to look at each to get a complete picture of what’s going on. Here are a few articles that were front page.
“An American Airlines passenger was captured on cellphone video smacking her husband with his laptop as their flight prepared to take off, police said. The scene unfolded on Sunday as the plane was about to leave Miami International Airport on its way to Los Angeles. Video shot by a passenger shows the woman, … striking her husband with the laptop after an expletive-filled argument between the couple.” (ABC News)
“Paris experienced its hottest day on record Thursday, as authorities warned the extreme heat could pose a threat to the rebuilding work at Notre Dame Cathedral. The temperature rose to a sweltering 107 degrees at the peak of the heat in the afternoon. That means July 25, 2019, will go down in history as the hottest day the French capital ever recorded, smashing the previous record of 104.7 degrees set in 1947, according to Meteo-France, the national meteorological service.” (ABC News)
“A man in California arrested in the death of his wife earlier this month reportedly told sheriff’s detectives he beat her with a concrete block while claiming it was protecting her from a group of “brutal, powerful” people who had infected him with mayonnaise.” (FOX News)
“A woman in Indiana allegedly stole someone else’s dentures and wore them to a meeting with her probation officer on Monday.” (FOX News)
“After 16 years without an execution, Barr has directed the head of the Bureau of Prisons to execute “five death-row inmates convicted of murdering, and in some cases torturing and raping, the most vulnerable in our society — children and the elderly” in December and January, according to a statement from the Department of Justice.” (FOX, CNN)
I opted to leave out the names of the five guys scheduled for execution but reading about their crimes left me nauseous. I don’t really know where I stand on the death penalty but these five people need to die.
Thanks for the news report from EFC broadcast! I don’t get a lot of news from America. If they talk about America here, its in Tagalo and I still don’t know what is going on.
