Give Me A Minute – What Do You Think?

We each have opinions. But where do they come from? I’d like you to think about the following topics without considering your political preference, religion, etc. Think about what you believe and not what you heard on the news. What is your first thought as you read this list? 

Should we have term limits for elected officials?

Should the United States be able to eliminate (assassinate) world leaders who present a danger to us?

Was the U.S. government involved in any way in the September 11 (911) World Trade Center attacks?

Do we need an electoral college?

Were the events of January 6, 2021, an insurrection?

Do you favor deporting people who entered the U.S. illegally?

Should ICE agents be allowed to wear a mask?

Should the ability to speak English be a requirement for citizenship?

Why won’t our political parties work together? (OK, this is my only republican/democrat topic.)

How do we address the fact that tests show that 25% of U.S. kids aged 16-24 are functionally illiterate?

If you have kids, do you follow the recommendations that gaming limits should be 30 minutes for kids under 6, no more than 60 minutes on school days, and 2 hours on weekends for kids over 6?

What professions do you admire?

Is domestic violence a problem in your relationships?

Did you know that about 1 in 5 women (18.3%) are raped in their lifetime?

Do you favor teaching cursive in schools?

Should the punishment for a crime be the same across each state?

Is it OK for a public school teacher to bring their own political, social, and religious views into the classroom?

Are phones allowed at your dinner table?

Do you believe in God?

What do you think happens when you die?

Is the current state of moral values in your country a very big problem?
