Kathy and I just got back from a trip. I took a ton of photos while we were in some of the West’s most picturesque states. What was God thinking when he created the places we saw? I pondered while we were driving. Deadwood, Little Bighorn, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, the Badlands, and Custer National Park.
According to the Bible, God makes his magnificence known to us through creation. I think he also shares some personal information about himself. God is, in my opinion, partly a mountain man, an explorer, and a daredevil who knows no bounds in the great outdoors. He is a bit of a wild man, with a touch of cowboy and mountain climber thrown in. Maybe he’s even part outlaw because he doesn’t play by our rules. How else do you explain the magnificence of what we saw on our trip?
God usually fits in a box for me. When he’s in the box, I can handle him more easily. But when I let him out, it is eye-opening to see him for what he really is. The magnificent creator of an incredible universe. An adventurer whose creation really does reveal how glorious he is.
