Why do we celebrate a day called Easter? Is it about peeps, and bunnies, and chocolate eggs? Or is it about something deeper and more important? During our life, each of us commits acts of sin and disobedience that separate us from God. His holiness means that sin must be punished and that sinners, us, be separated from him forever. But when Jesus willingly died on the cross, our sin is forgiven (and forgotten) by his shed blood. If we believe and accept him as our Lord and savior, we receive eternal life. This is why Jesus died.
